FAQ: About Darn Tough
Where are Darn Tough socks made? Are they really made in Vermont?
Yes, they really are made in Vermont, USA.
Can I take a tour of your mill in Northfield, Vermont?
Not yet. Someday perhaps, but now we are solely focused on building the best, most durable socks you’ve ever worn.
What makes Darn Tough socks so tough?
All of our socks are knit on small needle, fine gauge knitting machines. This approach produces durable, high density stitching without bulk. Less bulk means a better fit. The better the sock fits, the longer it will last.
The wool we use in our wool socks is fine-gauge, low micron 100% merino wool (the good stuff). We reinforce the outside and inside of the sock with nylon and lycra for added comfort, durability, and fit. Throw in 3 generations of knitting know-how, and you get one darn tough sock.
Where can I purchase Darn Tough branded stickers?
Thanks for wanting to rep our brand! On occasion, we partner with Vermont-based companies to make branded stickers as a surprise in some sock orders or as a gift with purchase. We do not have any stickers available for purchase, but if you reach out to our Customer Service team, they’ll see what they can do.
